Micro/sys Releases a StackableUSB® 8 Port Adaptor Board
Montrose, CA. . . For the first time OEMs can easily and conveniently attach multiple USB
devices directly to their embedded system. The USB3368 8 port USB adaptor board plugs
directly into any StackableUSB single board computer (SBC) providing eight standard type A
USB connectors. This design allows OEMs to operate with a mixture of StackableUSB
peripheral boards and standard USB devices. The breakout board is RoHS compliant, operates
from –40°C to +85°C, and provides standard USB connectivity to StackableUSB SBC.
The USB3368’s USB interconnect options allow embedded users the needed flexibility to
accommodate their systems various USB’s connector needs. In addition to the StackableUSB
format and the standard type A USB connectors, the USB3368 can be equipped with the Sealevel
molded connector depending upon the OEMs needs. The USB3368 is so versatile that it can
connect a StackableUSB SBC directly to a PC as a host or client plus additional I/O devices.
StackableUSB architecture is what allows Micro/sys to incorporate up to eight usable type A
USB connectors on the USB3368. The available type A USB ports are dependent upon
USB3368’s position within the StackableUSB BUS. Positioned adjacent to the CPU enables all
the ports to channel into the USB3368; with each removal from direct connection to the CPU,
the USB3368 decreases its number of accessible ports.
The board does not require any software and is transparent to the operation of the USB
interfaces it converts. A development kit that includes full documentation is free to new
customers. Standard USB cables and custom USB type A over-molded connector cables are also
available for use with the USB3368.
The USB3368 starts at $95 in single quantity. Significant OEM discounts are available. Contact
