Netsock™ is
a UDP/IP networking extension to an embedded PC's operating
system. Netsock is compatible with RUN.EXE, GS-DOS,
and MSDOS. It provides a UDP/IP stack which makes it
an ideal solution for networking on the factory floor.
A typical setup would be a client/server configuration
with the embedded PCs acting as clients and a Windows
PC acting as the server or control node.
Netsock is designed to be simple to work with. There
are no libraries that need to be linked into custom
applications. All that is needed is to include the
NETSOCK.H header file and you have full access to the
Netsock firmware. Configuration of the embedded Netsock
PC is also designed for rapid deployment. IP addresses
and network information are configured through either
a built in flash configuration program or through a
text file depending on the embedded PC selected. |
